Welcome to byMad!

A haven for architects and designers, and frankly anybody who likes a minimalistic and stylistic cafè / bar, with hyper friendly staff. Opened just before summer in May 2021, byMad has only really existed during Covid restrictions, but now as Norway has opened up, this place is ready to blast off full throttle and create a buzzing environment for architects, students, culture craving people and cigar enthusiasts alike✨

This is the perfect place to bring your laptop, buy delicious coffee and a sandwich and type away all day in a relaxed atmosphere. Delish lunch menu btw. A lot of vegan options, tasty sourdough sandwiches, vegan “skolebolle” and chia pudding.

There are many inspiring facets about this place. First of all the bar is all built up from leftover material from building sites, the coffee cups are made from clay that was excavated from Bjørvika when it was built (you can buy your own!), and the furniture is all from second-hand stores; impeccable aesthetic. This cafè really follows its mother company’s (Mad) philosophy: Every project is done on nature’s and the local community’s terms. byMad is the kind of place that sells (delicious) house wine on tap to reduce the use of transport and packaging 🌲

Also if you feel like getting a bit crazy one weekend you can actually buy Cuban cigars in the bar 💨

PRO tip! byMad has a neighbor deal with Beijing Palace, so that you can order food straight in from their kitchen 🥠

All in all a very dynamic and inspiring place. A chill hangout, an inspiring workplace for you and your laptop, a cigar club, a workshop for architects and a place to get loose when the weekend DJ’s turn up to make the brick walls bounce off some funky beats. Enough said! ♥️
