Have you ever heard of the term “rhapsody”? 🧐 It originated in ancient Greece and referred to a poet who moved from town to town to perform, a sort of a travelling storyteller back then. ✨

In modern times, a group of young literature and poetry enthusiasts have created an online platform called @rapsode.no to do just that - bring a text from local writers to the stage, perform it for one day only, and have the whole “stage” to themselves ✨ It appears everyday at 7am and disappears the same night.

“𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒕”.

This concept started about 3 years ago by Johanna, Hedda and Øyvind 🙌 They all have different backgrounds, e.g. creative writing, literature, theatre, acting and comedy - basically a very artistic gang that gives Rapsode its own spice.

The idea came about in France when they were talking about their need of being exposed to exciting writers, nothing too structured but something with soul.

For 2 months they were planning how it would go, contacted people to write texts for them and eventually started the project ❤️

Let us be clear - this is harder than it sounds, it is about 365 days a year 1 text per day from 65 different writers 😯

It became some kind of addiction to find the next piece and get it published by 7am every time. And it has to be great and high quality. “𝙄𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡” admits Hedda.

But you know what? You do not have to be a writer. These guys work with a 𝙋𝙀𝙊𝙋𝙇𝙀 𝘼𝙍𝙀 𝘼𝙍𝙏 approach. "𝙒𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚, 𝙄 𝙢𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙩, 𝙨𝙤 𝙄 𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙪𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩. 𝙃𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚" says Johanna. So you do not have to be a writer, but you have to write something good.

Now they have added more members who share the same passion and want to develop it together 🤩 Follow @rapsode.no project online to support local writers.
